 Martin Ramroth

Martin Ramroth (b.1964) is a teacher and choral conductor at Landesmusikgymnasium Rheinland-Pfalz in Montabaur, Germany, a select and unique high-school that specializes in music preparing students for a music or music-related career. His choirs, Art of the Voice, laFilia and EXtraCHORd are among the finest in the country; they have toured Europe and the US, and have won numerous awards including multiple first and third prizes in the German National Choral Competition and at international Festivals from Neerpelt, Belgium, to Tallinn, Estonia, and Tolosa, Spain. Ramroth’s first contact with professional music was as an assistant of the Limburg Cathedral Boy’s and Men’s Choir under Mathias Breitschaft. After his graduation from the University of Mainz, Germany, he went on to complete a Master’s degree at the University of Kansas where he studied with James Ralston and James Barnes. Martin Ramroth maintains an active presence as guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator throughout Germany. On occasion his need for interesting, exciting and innovative literature for his groups has motivated him to write choral arrangements and compositions, some of which are published in Germany. Jubilate is his first piece published in the US.
