Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts has earned a
reputation as one of the country’s outstanding collegiate music
programs. Undergraduate through doctoral degree programs prepare
talented musicians for professional careers in performance, teaching,
composition, and musical scholarship. Approximately 300
undergraduate and 150 graduate students have opportunities to learn
and grow under the guidance of nearly 60 distinguished full-time
faculty members. The College of Musical Arts is housed in the Moore
Musical Arts Center, a facility featuring two performance halls, three
rehearsal halls, over 70 practice rooms and state of the art electronic
studios and labs.
Choral music education majors, voice performance majors, and
students majoring in other disciplines sing in the five principal choral
ensembles at BGSU that include two traditional SATB choruses, a large
symphonic choir, and two gender-specific choruses. Choral faculty members Mark Munson, Emily Pence Brown and Richard Schnipke mentor undergraduate students as they prepare for careers as choral music
educators and performers. Talented graduate students have the
opportunity to earn masters degrees in choral conducting and choral
music education at Bowling Green State University.
